Davinson Sanchez and Ryan Sessegnon pictured breaking lockdown rules
Tottenham Hotspur defenders Davinson Sanchez and Ryan Sessegnon have broken lockdown rules as they are spotted jogging together, as per a report from the Mirror.
A video emerged on Tuesday in which the two defenders appeared to be jogging side-by-side in north London, despite the country being on lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic. The pair were filmed by a passerby on Monken Hadley Common near Barnet in north London. (h/t Mirror).
Government guidelines permit individuals to exercise once each day during lockdown. They state that this should be done either alone or with a member of their household while maintaining a two-metre distance from other people. (h/t Mirror)
But in the video, the players in question were not the two metres apart while jogging, as per the latest social distancing guidelines (h/t Mirror).
Following the emergence of the news, a Tottenham spokesperson issued a warning to its player to respect social distancing. The official told Daily Star (h/t Mirror):
“All of our players have been reminded to respect social distancing when exercising outdoors. We shall continue to reinforce this message.”
This is not the first instance of Premier League footballers breaking lockdown rules. Chelsea’s Mason Mount had been spotted playing five-a-side football game, while Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish was caught partying at a friend’s place (h/t Mirror).

While it is important for players to get in their exercise routine every day, they must also respect the guidelines put in place by the Government amid these challenging times. Let’s hope this turns out to be the last incident of our players breaching the regulations.
