Luis Campos claims he is ‘very well’ at Lille amid Tottenham links
Lille’s sporting director Luis Campos is a wanted man but the Portuguese isn’t thinking about leaving his position (h/t Football.london).
Tottenham are one of the clubs keen on his services and have the position open ever since Paul Mitchell left the club, while Manchester United are also interested in Campos (h/t Football.london).
Tottenham are interested in moving for Campos ahead of next season, but the Portuguese, who was a scout under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United has told Maisfutebol that he isn’t thinking of a move just yet (h/t Football.london).
“It is perfectly normal depending on what has happened, but I repeat I am very well where I am, I have an extraordinary relationship with my president.
“He was the one who convinced me to come, things have been going very well and I believe that it will be very difficult to leave the Lille project.”
Campos added that there had been approaches made to secure his services, but declined to name the clubs out of respect (h/t Football.london).
Tottenham failed with a move in the past
Campos also added that he doesn’t have an urge to work in the Premier League and was happy with the special project at Lille (h/t Football.london).
Spurs tried to land Campos when Mourinho joined the club. We did sign Joao Sacramento and Nuno Santos from Lille but were unable to pry the sporting director away (h/t Football.london).
Tottenham have been without a sporting director for two years and landing Campos would work well with Mourinho.
The boss has a lot of work to do in turning Tottenham’s fortunes around, and all help would be great.
