Son Heung-min urges fans not to breach coronavirus measures
Tottenham star Son Heung-min has urged his fans not to breach coronavirus measures by showing up to get a glimpse of him during his military training (h/t Daily Mail).
The 27-year-old is set to undergo a mandatory military service in his homeland South Korea during the current lockdown, after having been granted permission by Tottenham.
And Son has appealed to his fans in South Korea to not gather in large numbers to get a glimpse of him during the training. The South Korean international is due to start his programme on April 20 at a Marine Corps unit on Jeju Island before returning to London next month (h/t Daily Mail).
A statement on Son’s official Facebook page read (h/t Daily Mail):
“Due to the Covid-19 situation, we need to restrain ourselves from a large gathering. To prevent any more harm from Covid-19, please restrain yourself from coming on-site to see Son.”
While specific details of his three-week programme have been kept on a hush, it has been revealed that Son will have to undergo chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear warfare training (CBRN) during this time, along with discipline education and combat drills, before wrapping up the service with a 30km group march.

The 27-year-old had fractured his arm prior to the Premier League getting suspended. Having undergone surgery for the same in his homeland, Son returned to England last month, before returning to South Korea after having sought permission from the club to complete the mandatory military assignment.
Son was enjoying a fine season with us prior to his injury, having contributed with 16 goals and 9 assists in 32 matches in all competitions.
