Reputed pundit claims Harry Kane is not a target of Manchester United
Sky Sports’ James Cooper ran down a list of reported Manchester United targets and there was some good news for Tottenham.
Harry Kane was on the list of stars that United have been linked with, according to Sky Sports. However, it seems that the Red Devils aren’t keen on Kane, which is great news for us.
Cooper wrote about several targets that United have been linked with, and this was the update regarding Kane (h/t Sky Sports):
“It won’t happen even if Daniel Levy were to suggest to Ed Woodward he might be prepared to do a deal for Kane.”
The reporter further added that the England captain was a target previously but he isn’t one now:
“Furthermore, I’m under the impression that although there has been interest previously, Kane’s name isn’t on United’s recruitment list.”
United won’t spend big on one player
The coronavirus pandemic has already affected this season, with most top leagues in Europe suspended. Cooper suggested that the pandemic would ensure the next transfer window would not be a regular one.
United have spent close to £200m on five players in recent times, however, it is unlikely they will be spending that amount on a single player in the transfer window (h/t Sky Sports).
This news would come as some relief as Kane is one of the best we have produced in many years. The Englishman seems set to break several records for us and the national side.
Irrespective of how much United would be willing to pay for Kane, replacing him is difficult.
We need to keep hold of the best players to progress and cannot take a similar route to what we have done in the past. Gareth Bale is an example of selling our best talent but some of the signings from his transfer money did not click.
