Ryan Sessegnon reveals Jose Mourinho’s plans for Tottenham Hotspur next season
According to the Daily Star, Ryan Sessegnon has revealed that Jose Mourinho expects Tottenham Hotspur to challenge for the Premier League title next season. These comments were made on the #FootballUnited campaign.
The Portuguese tactician has endured a mixed season since taking over from Mauricio Pochettino in November. Spurs have not been able to maintain consistency, with a number of untimely losses derailing our momentum.
We have been the perennial bridesmaids under Pochettino, with us never being able to overcome the final hurdle. This was on show last season when in spite of being the better team, Liverpool comfortably defeated us in the Champions League final.
A similar effect observed in 2017 when we finished second in the title race.
A serial winner!
With all respect to Pochettino, Mourinho is a serial winner who has won numerous titles across different countries. His winning mentality has rubbed off on the youngster, who has been impressed by the Spurs boss’ start at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Sessegnon has revealed that it is a ‘no-brainer’ to work under a coach with such vast experience. He has named Mourinho as someone who knows a lot about the game and can help one improve.
The youngster sees no reason why the club cannot push up the table and launch a concentrated effort to challenge for the title.
“If we can add some bits to it we can go all the way and I know the gaffer is looking to win title.”
Let’s hope that the team does a better job next season. We can finally supplement our golden age in the Premier League era with trophies.

Tottenham do not by any means have a bad squad and if all the players can stay fit, there is no reason why we cannot challenge the teams above us.
As Liverpool showed, winning the first trophy can make a huge difference to a team’s psyche. In Mourinho, we have just the person who can bring about that attitude adjustment.
