Manchester United could find it hard to make a move for Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a boost in their efforts to keep ace striker Harry Kane at the club.

According to the Telegraph, Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has hinted that the club is likely to take a more measured approach regarding transfers in the upcoming window.

With Kane valued at a mammoth £200m, Woodward has effectively dismissed any hopes of him making the move to Old Trafford (h/t Telegraph).

Kane’s links to United gained traction following the striker’s comments regarding his future in North London. The 26-year-old revealed that he would not be averse to leave the club in search of silverware.

Any hopes of him making a world-record transfer to Old Trafford looks out of the question following the financial hit clubs have taken due to the coronavirus shutdown (h/t Telegraph).

Football has not been immune to the pandemic spreading across the world. With revenue streams running dry, even a club such as United will face problems in sanctioning a mammoth fee for our ace.

The news will come as a welcome relief to Jose Mourinho and the Spurs faithful.

Kane is the club’s third highest goalscorer

Kane currently has four more years left on his Spurs contract, giving Daniel Levy enough leeway in sticking to his guns.

The England captain is a prolific goalscorer and one of the best strikers in the world. His ambition to win more trophies is understandable. In Mourinho, he has a serial winner in charge.

A fit Spurs squad next season is likely to be a formidable team. This should present Kane with enough opportunities to believe that his future lies at Tottenham.

Kane’s future continues to be a cause of concern for our club, although there should be some relief following Woodward’s statements. Moreover, there aren’t many managers better than Jose Mourinho who can help him realize his ambitions.
