Tottenham fans react to links with RC Strasbourg’s Mohamed Simakan
According to French publication RMC Sport (h/t Ricky Sacks), Tottenham have launched an enquiry to sign RC Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan.
Jose Mourinho is eyeing a defensive overhaul this summer. The likes of Jan Vertonghen, Serge Aurier, Danny Rose are all expected to leave.
And in order to strengthen the squad, our manager is eyeing a move for Simakan. The RC Strasbourg man has impressed heavily in what has been his breakthrough campaign. The 19-year-old, who can play at right-back, as well as centre-back, has featured 25 times across all competitions this term.
The report adds that Simakan is valued at €15m by the Ligue 1 club and is being chased by AC Milan as well as Southampton.
Simakan becomes the latest in the line of defenders getting linked with our club ahead of the summer. And the fans expressed their feelings over the potential arrival of the Frenchman.
Reactions
He’s had a breakout season. For me he’s like a young Mukiele, physical, decent technically and can play centre back or right back. Plenty of talent. Lots of scope to improve. https://t.co/mhpdb6tzjY

We keep getting linked to the right players at least. Good prospect, strong, mobile, he’s got a presence about him, looks a future leader. He’s not a great passer (long or short distance), don’t fancy him at RB. Top CB prospect though. We need an experienced CB really.

He is excellent but he will need at least 1 year to get used to the PL.

Are we buying a team full of RB for the next campaign? Ffs
