Barcelona turned down chance to sign Tanguy Ndombele, claims Guillem Balague
According to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, Barcelona have no interest in signing Tottenham star Tanguy Ndombele and have already said no to the North London outfit (h/t Daily Star).
Ndombele joined Tottenham in a club-record £55m deal last summer from Olympique Lyon. However, the Frenchman has struggled to make an the desired impact in his debut campaign with us. Injuries haven’t helped his cause, but even when fit and on the pitch, the midfielder has been well below his best.
Ndombele, of late, had been heavily linked with a switch to Barcelona. The Catalans were reported to be interested in bolstering their midfield and the Frenchman was touted as a top target. To that end, Barcelona were willing to offer two players, Nelson Semedo and Samuel Umtiti, in exchange for our midfielder.
However, all those claims have been rubbished by Guillem Balague on his YouTube channel. The transfer expert claims that Ndombele had been offered to the Catalan giants, but they said no to the proposal (h/t Daily Star).
“Talking about Spurs, Ndombele has been offered to Barcelona but they said no to him.”
No Tanguy Ndombele – Arthur swap proposal either
Balague further added that contrary to reports, Tottenham also were not interested in securing the signing of Barcelona midfielder Arthur Melo. It had been claimed that Spurs were looking at the Brazilian and were open to a swap deal with Ndombele.
Instead, he stated that our club are looking at Nelson Semedo as a potential option, but no offer has been made (h/t Daily Star).
“Arthur was not wanted by Spurs. What Spurs want is a right-back and they ask for Semedo.”

This update comes only a day after Ndombele posted a message on his social media account dismissing all transfer speculations. Moreover, Jose Mourinho is not ready to quit on the midfielder yet. So, in all likelihood, the 23-year-old will be staying put at our club next season.
