Spurs Transfer Rumours Vedat Muriqi keen on Tottenham move

Tottenham Hotspur desperate to sign Vedat Muriqi

Tottenham are desperate to secure the signing of Kosovan striker Vedat Muriqi and are ready to meet Fenerbahce’s valuation of the player. This claim comes from the Kosovo Football Federation president Agim Ademi. (h/t Express)

Muriqi joined Fenerbahce last summer and has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign. The 26-year-old has scored 15 goals and assisted six more in 28 matches across all competitions. Capped 23 times by the Kosovo national team, the ace striker has scored eight goals.

Muriqi has been linked with a move to Tottenham for quite a while now. And now, Kosovo Football Federation president Agim Ademi has claimed that our club is ‘ready to pay whatever’ to sign the 26-year-old this summer. ( GazetaOlle h/t Express)

“Tottenham are insisting on signing Muriqi. Tottenham were ready to pay whatever Fenerbahce wants, but since then, other Serie A clubs have entered the race, such as Napoli.”

It is no secret that our club is in desperate need of a new centre-forward. Tottenham allowed Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen to leave last summer without bringing in any replacement. This came back to bite the club after Harry Kane suffered a serious injury in the January transfer window.

The lack of a quality backup to the England captain affected the team’s form. It is something that manager Jose Mourinho needs to address before next season, with Muriqi emerging as a target.

The 26-year-old, according to reports in Italy (h/t Express), is expected to cost somewhere around £30m. It will be interesting to see if the club does match that figure like Ademi claims. Especially, given the current financial situation due to the coronavirus crisis.
