Dimitar Berbatov delivers perfect response when asked to choose between Tottenham and Manchester United
Dimitar Berbatov enjoyed a distinguished career in the Premier League. The Bulgarian arrived in England in 2006, joining Tottenham Hotspur from German outfit Bayer Leverkusen.
The 39-year-old spent two years at Tottenham, during which he managed 102 appearances, scoring 46 goals and assisting 24 more. Berbatov won the League Cup with Spurs in 2007/08, having scored a goal in the 2-1 win against Chelsea in the final. That remains the last time our club lifted a trophy.
Having led us to a trophy, Berbatov left the club under controversial circumstances in the following summer, joining our rivals Manchester United. The striker tasted great success with the Red Devils, winning three Premier League titles and two League Cups.
Naturally, fans are curious to know which club the Bulgarian prefers. In an Instagram Q&A, a fan asked Berbatov the same, and the striker came up with the perfect reply. (h/t Football.london)
“How many times I need to answer this question? It’s like asking me which of my kids I love the most. I love both teams to death and also I love and respect every team I used to play for. Simple.”
Berbatov was also asked to pick his most favourite goal and the 39-year-old replied that there were too many special goals to pick just one. But he went to name three goals, one of which came during his time at our club.
“There are too many to pick just one, but maybe top three. The one against Roma with Leverkusen, the one against Liverpool with United and probably the one against Charlton with Tottenham.”
