Liverpool ready to offer an escape route to Tottenham star Tanguy Ndombele
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele could be given an escape route from his misery in North London, as rivals Liverpool are interested in signing the Frenchman. This is according to a report from French outlet FootMercato (h/t Express).
Ndombele joined Tottenham from Olympique Lyon last summer, in a club-record £55m deal. The 23-year-old made a promising start, but has failed to build upon it. Injuries haven’t helped his cause, as the Frenchman has struggled to establish himself as a regular under Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese tactician has criticised Ndombele on more than one occasion, leading to speculations of a rift between the two. This has led to an air of uncertainty surrounding the future of the 23-year-old at Tottenham.
Recent reports had claimed that Ndombele was keen on buckling down and proving himself at our club. But that could be set to change as Liverpool are now willing to offer the 23-year-old a way out of misery at Tottenham. (h/t Express)
The report states that Liverpool were interested in signing Ndombele last summer as well, but were beaten to the punch by our club. However, they are now considering rekindling their interest in the French international.
The Premier League leaders are exploring the possibility of signing the 23-year-old on a season-long loan with an option to make the transfer permanent. (h/t Express)

Ndombele may have struggled in his debut season in England, but has shown signs of his immense quality. Given time, he will rise up to the expectations at Tottenham. Hence, it wouldn’t be wise for our club to offload him this summer, that too to a direct rival no less.
