Tottenham interested in signing Taylor and Zach Booth
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing American brother duo of Taylor and Zach Booth in the summer transfer window, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Taylor Booth, 18, is a midfielder in the Bayern Munich youth team. Having come through the Real Salt Lake academy in US, the teenager joined the Germans in January last year. Till date, he has featured 23 times for the Bayern’s U-19 side, scoring one goal and creating five more.
The midfielder, who will turn 19 at the end of the month, has featured four times for the USA U-19 team, scoring one goal in the process.
Taylor caught the eyes of Jose Mourinho’s staff last year, when the Bayern U-19 side faced our team in the UEFA Youth League. The central midfielder impressed heavily on the night, creating two goals as the Germans won 3-0.
Having been left impressed by his exploits during the tie, Tottenham are already believed to have made an enquiry to sign the midfielder, who can play as a box-to-box midfielder as well as a holding midfielder. Taylor Booth has a contract with Bayern Munich till 2022. (h/t Daily Mail)
Furthermore, Tottenham are interested in signing Taylor’s younger brother Zach Booth, who is still at the Real Salt Lake academy. The 16-year-old is also a central midfielder like his elder brother. Rated very highly at the academy, the younger Booth brother is on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs according to the report. Tottenham, though, are believed to have the edge, given that the midfielder had a trial with our club before Christmas. And the club have been continuously monitoring his progress from then on. While not much is known about the Booth brothers, given the number of clubs tailing them, they sure seem to possess a lot of potential. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham sign either of the two in the coming months.
