Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno Espirito Santo has given his verdict on the club's loss to Dutch side Vitesse in the UEFA Conference League.

Tottenham star Steven Bergwijn has flown back to London

As per a report from the Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur forward Steven Bergwijn flew back to London on Monday as the club eyes a return to training from next week.

Bergwijn joined Tottenham in the January transfer window from PSV Eindhoven. The Dutch forward began his spell at the club with a bang, scoring on his debut against Manchester City.

However, not long after the 22-year-old picked up an injury that sidelined him. In seven games so far for the North Londoners, Bergwijn has scored two goals.

Following the suspension of the Premier League, Bergwijn had flown back to Netherlands towards the end of March for the birth of his child. Due to prevailing conditions, the attacker had stayed back in his homeland.

However, after the UK government announced that Pro Sport events can resume post June 1, Tottenham are eyeing a return to team training from next week. To that end, Bergwijn flew back to London on Monday night. (h/t Evening Standard)

The report further adds that Bergwijn has recovered from his ankle injury completely and should be ready to return to action whenever football returns.
