Tottenham monitoring Celtic youngster Daniel Kelly
According to a report from Herald Scotland, Tottenham are among a number Premier League clubs monitoring Celtic teenage midfielder Daniel Kelly.
Kelly, 15, is a part of the Hoops’ youth academy. He is carving out quite a reputation for himself, having impressed for the club’s U15, U16 and U18 sides. (h/t Glasgow Times)
Kelly also was a standout performer for the Celts youth side in the prestigious Sheffield Trophy, where they finished runners-up behind MLS outfit Seattle Sounders. (h/t Glasgow Times)
A number of clubs including Tottenham, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester City have sent scouts to watch the young midfielder in action and have been impressed. As a result, Celtic have offered Kelly his first pre-professional contract, to keep him at the club. (h/t Glasgow Times)
While the first-team is need of serious recruitment, it is good to see that Tottenham are focused on securing young talents for the academy, who will be ready to step into the senior setup in the coming years.
Only recently, reports claimed that the North Londoners were keen on signing teenagers Taylor and Zach Booth from Bayern Munich and Real Salt Lake respectively.

Celtic has produced some exciting young talents from their academy in recent years. The likes of Kieran Tierney, Mikey Johnston, Anthony Ralston have all made the grade to the Hoops first-team and impressed. Tierney even earned a high-profile transfer to our arch rivals Arsenal last summer.
The fact that so many PL clubs are monitoring Kelly hints at his potential. However, it remains to be seen if Spurs are able to convince him to move down south to London.
