Harry Kane to not let off if facing Leyton Orient
According to Good Morning Britain Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has revealed what he would do if he came up against Leyton Orient.
The club holds a special place in Kane’s heart. It was here that he made his professional bow in 2011. On loan from Tottenham, he was only 17 when he joined the O’s on loan. He went on to score five times in 18 appearances before returning to White Hart Lane.
The nostalgia, however, does not reflect in his professionalism. Kane has revealed that he would just crack on as normal if it came to facing the O’s.
“To be honest, I think I’d just crack on as normal”
Kane strengthened his relationship by joining forces with his former club for a common cause. He will sponsor their shirts for next season, while donating the space to three good causes.
The O’s home strip will carry a message of gratitude to frontline workers fighting the coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, mental health charity, Mind, and Haven House Children’s Hospice will also have their logos on Orient’s two other jerseys. 10% of the proceeds from each replica shirt sold will go to the particular cause featured on the front.
Speaking on the initiative, Kane revealed that Nigel Travis, the owner of Leyton Orient was the brain behind the operation. He got in touch with the player’s brother to set the ball rolling.
The player is only too happy to not just help his former club but also the three causes at the same time.
“It’s obviously a chance to help Orient, who gave me my first professional start and got me underway with my professional career, and help three amazing causes during this difficult time.”
