Hugo Lloris went big on a guard dog to protect his family
According to the Sun, Tottenham Hotspur superstar Hugo Lloris spent £15,000 on a specially trained guard dog just two weeks ago.
A spate of robberies have led to Premier League stars purchasing guard dogs amidst the lockdown. The list also includes Manchester United stars Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jesse Lingard.
The French World Cup winner made the investment in order to protect his wife Marine and their three children while he is away with the Spurs squad.
According to ESPN, the Frenchman’s new Belgian Shepherd was bought from a London-based company that specializes in guard dogs.
Lloris should be lauded for his foresight especially after what Dele Alli went through this week. The Englishman’s home was broken into by two armed robbers in the early hours on Wednesday.
The robbers decamped with jewellery and watch worth hundreds of thousands of pounds. The player who was punched in the face was left ‘shaken’ by the incident.
The thieves evaded a security guard at the property, who was not aware of the intrusion. Police, meanwhile, are continuing their hunt for the intruders but are yet to make any arrests.
Alli is the second Tottenham player to have his house broken into this year. The family of Jan Vertonghen were held at knifepoint while he was away on Champions League duty at RB Leipzig in March.

Thankfully, neither Vertonghen nor Alli and their families were seriously hurt by the intrusions. Players too are human beings like us and deserve to lead a happy and safe life with their families.
Let’s hope all of them take the necessary steps to ensure no other player nor their families go through such an ordeal again.
