Juan Foyth a transfer target for Serie A outfit Sampdoria
According to a report from Calciomercato (h/t Football.london), Serie A club Sampdoria are keen on signing Tottenham Hotpsur defender Juan Foyth, who is linked with an exit from the club.
Foyth signed for Tottenham in the summer of 2017. But the Argentine international hasn’t been able to establish himself as a regular in the first-team at our club.
Till date, the 22-year-old has made just 32 first-team appearances, scoring a solitary goal in the process. The ongoing campaign has seen Foyth feature just seven time across all competitions, with injuries and poor form hampering him.
The emergence of Japhet Tanganga has also hindered his first-team chances somewhat, leading to speculations over his future at the club. And now, Serie A side Sampdoria have expressed serious interest in securing the services of the 22-year-old. (h/t Football.london)
This development comes after Foyth’s agent hinted that the player will be on his way out of Tottenham this summer. Speaking on talkSPORT (h/t Football.london) Claudio Curti said:
“If he can’t have minutes in Tottenham we will have to look at the best options for him to develop and play anywhere else.”

Foyth, despite his struggles this term, is a talented footballer. And given time, he has the potential to become a key player for our team. So, while it may seem like getting rid of him would be the ideal way to go about things, the club should instead consider a season-long loan for the Argentine, before taking a call on his future.
