The club’s official site has uploaded a video where Spurs manager Jose Mourinho showed English legend David Beckham around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

As the global ambassador of AIA, Beckham was given a personal tour of the facilities at our new home. The video is one of a series of videos released by AIA about the club. Having spent four years at the club’s youth level, the former English skipper has been given a taste of the stadium he could have called home.

The duo started its visit with the dressing room. They discussed the difference in facilities that exist today in comparison to those during Beckham’s days.

It is clear to see that the sport has moved on and so has the facilities available for those involved. As someone who has been managing for the last two decades, Mourinho has experienced a number of changes during this time.

Same tactics, new perspective

He highlighted how the tactics today are delivered through a touchscreen. A far cry from the pen, paper, marker, and whiteboard that Beckham is familiar with. From the looks of it, Mourinho appears to use the technology a lot for set-piece organization.

The duo then went to the room where the players take their pre-match meal. They touched upon aspects such as diet regulation, conditioning, and recovery.

From there Mourinho led his guest to his office. The Spurs boss comes up with his speeches here and what he decides to say could make all the difference on the pitch.

“Before the game, I win and I lose before I arrive here”

They then ran into Spurs chairman Daniel Levy in the corridor. Beckham congratulated him for what he has achieved with the facility. A first-hand experience of the facilities has given Beckham a new appreciation of what footballers have available today. If he thought he had it lucky in his day, it is a world apart now.
