Jurgen Klinsmann believes Harry Kane will win silverware under Jose Mourinho
Speaking to talkSport (h/t Football.london), Tottenham hotspur legend Jurgen Klinsmann has backed Harry Kane to stay put at the club.
The English skipper had earlier admitted that he could leave the club if they did not meet his aspirations. This saw him consequently be linked with the likes of Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid.
The former German striker believes Kane does not need to move to achieve his aspirations. He believes Tottenham has a good chance of winning trophies under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.
“With his experience and knowledge, he has an amazing humour as well, I just hope that things will fall into place and they get the success that they deserve.”
He is understanding of the striker’s plight. Despite picking up numerous individual accolades, major trophies have so far eluded Kane. Calling him an exceptional striker, Klinsmann believes Kane can do anything if he puts his mind to it.
“He can achieve anything he puts his mind to”
It is quite ironic that Klinsmann ended his first spell at Spurs by leaving for Bayern Munich in search of trophies. Considering he was 31 at the time, you can’t begrudge him for thinking he was running out time.
He eventually returned to the club on loan for a second spell in 1997. Klinsmann scored 9 goals in 15 appearances helping Spurs stave off relegation. The German finished his playing days at the top in Tottenham’s final game of the season against Southampton.
