Atletico Madrid star Stefan Savic emerges as Tottenham target
According to a report from Spanish publication Todo Fichajes (h/t Ricky Sacks), Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in signing Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic in the summer transfer window.
The 29-year-old Savic has grown into a top defender during his stint with Atletico Madrid. The Montengro defender has been with Los Rojiblancos for almost five years now, having signed from Fiorentina in 2015. Till date, he has featured 151 times for the Spanish capital club.
Tottenham are resigned to losing Jan Vertonghen when his contract expires. The Belgian hasn’t been able to agree an extension with the club and seems set for an exit. Hence, bringing in a new defender is of paramount importance for Jose Mourinho & co. especially considering that Davinson Sanchez has had an up-and-down campaign.
