Hojbjerg has been key to Southampton’s revival after a dismal start to the 2019/20 campaign. This kind of form has put him on the radars of our club.
Recent reports have claimed that the Saints will be forced to cash in on a number of their players, including Hojbjerg, due to rising debts. And now, the Danish international has fueled speculations of a potential transfer to Tottenham. (h/t Football.london)
The 24-year-old liked a tweet on social media by WhoScored.com, which read “Pierre Emile Hojbjerg has emerged as a possible target for Tottenham. Would he be just the player to complete their midfield puzzle?” (h/t Football.london)
Given the lack of a proper defensive midfielder at Tottenham currently, signing Hojbjerg would be a good move. The Danish international has accrued plenty of experience in England and at 24, has his best years well ahead of him.

In addition, he will be entering the final year of his contract this summer. This would mean Southampton may well be forced to sell him in a cut-price deal. With Hojbjerg himself seemingly keen on completing the move, it now remains to be seen if Spurs are able to close the deal.
