Lille chief confirms Victor Osimhen transfer offers amidst Tottenham Hotspur interest
According to the Daily Mail, Lille owner Gerard Lopez has revealed that the club have already received offers for star striker Victor Osimhen. He has however warned it will take a fee close to £70million for him to sell the player.
“We turned down one English and one Spanish offer this January transfer window.”
Interest from the Premier League is high with the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham, and Newcastle United all linked with the 21-year-old, as they look to bolster their striking options.
Osimhen joined the club from Belgian side Charleroi last summer. Signed for around £10million, Lille could end up making a huge profit from selling the prolific marksman. With four more years to go before his contract expires, the French side hold all the aces when it comes to negotiations.
Having sold Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal for £72million last season, they could be set for yet another windfall this summer. In the last three years, the club have made £219million from players while spending £149million on incomings. (h/t Daily Mail)
Osimhen has made 38 appearances for the club this season. He has scored 18 goals and six assists. Of them, two goals came in the Champions League. It shows he is capable of cutting it at the highest level. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Spurs assistant manager Joao Sacramento has a first-hand idea of Osimhen, having managed him at Lille, before joining Mourinho at Spurs (h/t Sky Sports).
At 22, he is of the right age to be considered a long-term prospect. It is a matter of debate if Tottenham can indeed afford him in the current market.

Bringing in a striker is a priority given that our only senior specialist striker is Kane. Lille hold all the aces when it comes to negotiating for Osimhen.
He will not come cheap. But given the opportunity, he could become Kane’s successor in the future.
