Stefan Savic keen on Tottenham Hotspur switch
According to Todofichajes (h/t Football.london), Atletico Madrid centre-back defender Stefan Savic would be interested in a move to Tottenham Hotspur if his valuation is met.
The Montenegro international has endured an injury-hit season at the Wanda Metropolitano. he has made just 19 appearances while scoring one goal this season.
Also capable of playing at right-back, the 29-year-old has been at the Spanish giants since 2015. He has since made 151 appearances while scoring two goals and three goals. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Savic still has one major move remaining, and Spurs could represent a nice option for him. Madrid value the center-back at €15million. This is a far more affordable option when compared to other targets such as Dayot Upamecano, who was linked with Spurs earlier in the season.
Savic also is an attractive option given his experience of having played in the Premier League. He spent just one season at the club before moving to Fiorentina. Although he failed to leave an impression at the Etihad, he is now a player with considerable experience and ability.
The defence is an area that Spurs need to invest in this summer. With Jan Vertonghen looking set to leave the club, there is a spot open in the Spurs squad. Toby Alderweireld is not getting any younger while Davinson Sanchez has been far too inconsistent.
A solid defence is the trademark of a Jose Mourinho team. In Savic, he will be getting a player well acquainted with such a system having played under Diego Simeone.
