Jose Mourinho keen to bring a smile to Tottenham fans’ faces
Speaking to the Spurs TV (h/t Tottenham Hotspur), Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has revealed he is eager to return to action.
The Portuguese tactician has also revealed his intention to bring a smile onto the faces of the fans. With Spurs last in action on 7th March, Mourinho finds the ability to play and win again an exciting prospect.
“I think now we can all feel that the first match is arriving.”
The Bundesliga became the first major European league to return to action this month. Others such as the Portuguese Primeira Liga and La Liga are also set to return soon. He admitted that it is strange not to be playing but reiterated the fact that they will be ready for when the games return.
Mourinho has more reasons to be happy given his squad. The suspension of the game has ensured his injured stars are all back in training. With a full squad to choose from, he can finally launch an assault on the top four.
He has however advised caution, saying players will not be immune to injuries once the season restarts. Mourinho also opened up on the effect the lack of rest can have on a player’s fitness.
The Portuguese revealed that he cannot ask for more than the authorities are giving at the moment. Now it is time for the staff and the players to do their work on the pitch and give the people what they want.

With social distancing still in force, Mourinho has spoken on the new reality at Hotspur Way. A place usually brimming with activity and noise, it has a comparatively silent demeanour.
However, now the uncertainty is over and the Premier League will return in less than three weeks time.
