Philippe Coutinho keen on England return amidst Tottenham Hotspur
According to the Evening Standard, Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho is keen for a return to the English Premier League.
The news was confirmed by the player’s agent, Kia Joorabchian. The Brazilian has failed to replicate the success he enjoyed in England with Liverpool.
“He has a desire to come back to the Premier League at some point.”
Coutinho signed for Barcelona in January 2018 and has struggled to make the desired impact. The Brazilian playmaker was loaned out to Bayern Munich last summer, where he has fared decently. In 32 matches in all competitions, the 27-year-old has scored 9 goals and assisted 8.
The Catalans though are looking to offload Coutinho this summer. While a permanent transfer had been mooted, they are now willing to let the Brazilian leave on loan once again.
Joorabchian has, however, refused to commit if a return will happen this year or in the future.
“It may not happen this year, it may happen this year – we don’t know. We have not discussed anything for now.”
He is also a proven quantity in England, having starred for years at Liverpool. A match-winner for the Merseysiders, he has made 201 appearances while scoring 54 goals and 45 assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)
A match-winner who can unlock the tightest of defences, the Brazilian will add much creativity to the Spurs midfield. Too often, we have lacked an impetus in attack from our midfielders. Signing Coutinho can change that.

Joorabchian has also denied that Barcelona were holding out for a £9million fee to take Coutinho on loan. He confirmed that no figure has been discussed.
