Tottenham Hotspur have regularly scouted Celtic ace Odsonne Edouard
According to the Times, Tottenham Hotspur have been scouting Celtic ace, Odsonne Edouard, from the beginning of the season.
The 22-year-old striker came through the academy at PSG before moving to Celtic in 2017. Initially transferring on a loan, he did enough to convince the Scottish giants to sign him permanently next season.
It has proven to be a masterstroke as he keeps going from strength to strength. He has scored an impressive 27 goals and 19 assists in 45 games this season as the Hoops once again won the SPL title. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Capable of playing anywhere along the front line, he averages 0.72 goal contributions per game since moving to Scotland. In many ways, he is an excellent choice for a club in need of a striker, such as Tottenham.
The club failed to replace Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen last summer. With Harry Kane the only senior striker, Spurs were taking a massive risk.
It came down crashing on New Year’s day as the Spurs ace went off injured. Although Son Heung-Min held the fort for a while, his injury threw the attack into jeopardy.
Spurs have since been knocked out of the Champions League and the FA Cup. Currently in 8th spot, we also face a fight in order to get into the top four. Whether a backup striker could have helped us cope better is a matter of much debate. One thing is for sure, we cannot afford to repeat the same mistake going into next season.

Edouard has two years left on his contract with the Glasgow giants and is valued at £25million. Celtic boss Neil Lennon is also desperate to hold onto his prized asset.
At the price, he represents a cheaper option to the likes of Arkadiusz Milik and Victor Osimhen. Whether Spurs do make a move for him or not remains to be seen.
