Dele Alli states that Tottenham players are ready to put the pre-lockdown poor form behind them

Speaking on a live stream as part of Gamers Without Borders (h/t Daily Mail), Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli has remarked upon the players being ready to put on improved performances when football resumes.

Tottenham had been going through a rough patch of form since the winter break. The club won just one of the six matches since and were knocked out of both the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup.

Once the closest contenders to Chelsea, we have also fallen down the pecking order in the battle for the top four. Although injuries saw our best players sidelined, the level of performance left much to be desired.

The same was acknowledged by Alli who admitted that the club was not doing well. He has, however, also revealed that the players are ready to set that record straight. (h/t Daily Mail)

“From a Tottenham point of view we were not doing well enough before the break and we know that but we’ve all come back to training hungry and we want to improve.”

Now after a three-month absence, Jose Mourinho finds himself in possession of a full-strength squad. With our stars back, we can finally launch an all-out assault on the top four. Alli admits that the players are excited to be back and hopeful of doing well. (h/t Daily Mail)

“Everyone is excited so we just need to dig in.”

Spurs stepped up their preparations with an 11-a-side match at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Friday.
