Erik Lamela has till the end of the season to convince Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho

According to a report from Football Insider (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur star Erik Lamela has just the remaining nine matches of the season to convince Jose Mourinho that he has a future at the club.

The 28-year-old has been at the club since the summer of 2013, having arrived from AS Roma as part of the splurge from the Gareth Bale sale proceeds.

However, his time in North London has been riddled with injuries, which has never really allowed him to nail down a spot for himself in the starting XI. Till date, he has featured 213 times for us, bagging 33 goals and 47 assists.

It has been the same case in the 2019/20 campaign as well, with Lamela missing a large chunk of games with fitness problems.

Mourinho has been vocal in his praise for Lamela in the past. But given the current financial situation, the club needs to sell some players in order to boost the transfer budget. And should Lamela fail to take his chances, the Argentine could be on his way out once the transfer window opens.

Naturally, the update got a lot of Tottenham fans talking on the subject of Lamela’s future at the club. And here are some of the reactions from our club’s supporters on the matter.
