Tottenham open to listen to offers for Kazaiah Sterling
According to a report from Football Insider (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur are ready to listen to offers for academy graduate Kazaiah Sterling after a series of failed loan moves.
A product of the Tottenham academy, the 21-year-old striker had been tipped for a bright future. However, he hasn’t been able to live up to the expectations as of yet. Having made his first-team debut back in December 2017, the youngster has made just two appearances for the senior side.
However, he has done well for the reserves, scoring 18 goals in 39 appearances till date. Sterling was loaned out to Sunderland for the second half of the 2018/19 campaign. But he managed just a solitary goal in eight matches for the Black Cats.
Another loan move to Doncaster Rovers in the first half of the 2019/20 campaign failed to yield desired results due to injuries. He moved to Leyton Orient in the second half of the term, but failed to make a single appearance before the season was cut short.
The 21-year-old has one year left on his current contract with Tottenham and as per the report, the club are now looking to offload him this summer. The reason behind the decision is that the chances of him making it to the first-team are slim. (h/t Football.london)
Harry Kane is our first-choice striker currently and it is widely expected that the club will bring in another new striker in the summer, after having struggled during Kane’s injury-enforced absence. Then there is teenager Troy Parrott, who has been fast-tracked to the first-team as well.
