Tottenham fans react to rumours of Barcelona interest in Ryan Sessegnon
According to a report from Sky Sports, reigning La Liga champions Barcelona are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur starlet Ryan Sessegnon in the summer transfer window. To that end, they have already made an inquiry over his availability.
The report states that Barcelona have been monitoring the progress of the 20-year-old Sessegnon since 2018 when he helped Fulham earn promotion to the Premier League. And they are now looking to act on their interest and have let the player known of their admiration of him through intermediaries. (h/t Sky Sports)
Sessegnon joined Tottenham from Fulham last summer in £25m deal. But, he hasn’t been able to make the kind of impact that was expected of him. The Englishman missed a large chunk of the first half of the campaign due to injury and has struggled to make his way into the team under Jose Mourinho.
Sessegnon hasn’t played a single minute of football since the season restarted last month and had been left out of the matchday squads for two of the six games post-resumption. Barcelona are now looking to make the most of the situation and are reportedly exploring the possibility of a player swap deal with Spurs.
