Bayern Munich eyeing move for Norwich City’s Max Aarons
According to a report from Sky Germany (h/t Sky Sports), Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are lining up a summer move for Norwich City defender Max Aarons, who is a target for Tottenham Hotspur.
Having come through the youth ranks at Norwich City, Aarons enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in 2018/19, playing a key role in the Canaries’ promotion-winning campaign. He was named in the EFL Championship Team of the Year for the season.
Norwich did not enjoy a lot of success upon returning to the top-flight, as they ended up finishing at the bottom of the table and getting relegated. However, Aarons was one of the few positives for the club in a poor campaign. The 20-year-old featured in 36 league matches, contributing with two assists in the process.
This has led to interest from Tottenham Hotspur, with the club being linked with a move for the Englishman for quite some time now.
The right-back slot had been a problem for us this term. Kieran Trippier’s departure left a gaping hole at the back. Serge Aurier has performed well in the attacking sense, but remains a major liability at the back. And with Kyle Walker-Peters seemingly not having a future at the club, a new right-back is a must this summer.
Aarons, to that end, would have been a decent addition to the ranks. However, Bayern Munich have now entered the fray to sign the England youth international.
The German champions are also in the market for a new right-back and have identified Aarons as a target. They are are to pay €20m (£18.3m) to sign the young defender.

Given the chance of winning trophies is more likely with Bayern, coupled with the lure of Champions League football, they do hold the upper-hand in the race to sign Aarons. It now remains to be seen what the youngster decides.
