Leeds United eyeing £15m offer for Juan Foyth
According to a report from The Sun, newly-promoted Premier League club Leeds United are planning to strengthen their defence in the summer by signing Tottenham Hotspur star Juan Foyth.
The 22-year-old Foyth has been at Tottenham since 2017, having arrived from Argentine outfit Estudiantes. However, he has never been able to make a mark at the first-team level at the club.
Despite having been at the club for over three years, Foyth has made just 32 first-team appearances till date. Only seven of those came in the 2019/20 campaign.
The Argentine was hardly used by Jose Mourinho once he took over the reins after Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking last November. Injuries did play a part in that, but even when fit the Portuguese tactician did not seem to favour the versatile defender much.
Foyth’s agent has spoken previously of looking for a new club for his client. Leeds United have been linked with a move for the Argentine international for a while now. And now, the Whites are reportedly ready to make a £15m offer to secure the signing of the 22-year-old star.
The driving force behind the move, as per the report, is Leeds’ boss Marcelo Bielsa. The enigmatic manager believes believes that his compatriot would strengthen his squad for the club’s much-awaited return to the Premier League.

Foyth’s contract with Tottenham runs till 2022. While it is true that he hasn’t made the best of impression, the 22-year-old is full of potential and has age on his side as well.
Selling him, at this point, might not be the best option. A loan deal for him to gain more experience with regular first-team action would be more prudent. So, it remains to be seen if the club accepts Leeds’ offer for the defender.
