Newcastle set for Daniel Levy talks for Danny Rose transfer

According to a report from the Chronicle Live, Newcastle United will sit down with Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy in order to negotiate a permanent transfer for Danny Rose.

The 30-year-old had joined Newcastle on loan in the January transfer window and had become a regular in Steve Bruce’s side for the second half of the campaign.

Rose ended the 2019/20 season with 13 appearances for the Magpies, but failed to contribute with a goal or an assist. With the season now over, Rose’s loan deal with Newcastle has come to an end. However, the Tyneside outfit remain interested in signing the left-back on a permanent deal.

Manager Bruce has already made his desire of signing the England international permanently known in the past. Rose, too, has expressed his desire to make his switch to the St. James’ Park permanent not so long ago.

And, to make it happen, the Magpies are set for talks with Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy, to work out the transfer fee for the 30-year-old. (h/t Chronicle Live)

Rose is in the final year of his current contract with Tottenham. Recent reports had claimed that Tottenham could sell him for as little as £5m.

Rose has been with Tottenham since 2007, having signed from Leeds United. The 30-year-old enjoyed some fine years with the club, establishing himself as one of the best left-backs in England.

However, things haven’t been all too well between him and the club for a couple of years now. And, it now seems very much likely that the England international will be on his way out before next season begins.
