Tottenham told to pay £10m for Can Bozdogan
According to a report from Mundo Deportivo (h/t Football.london), Tottenham will have to shell out a transfer fee of £10m in order to sign Schalke youngster Can Bozdogan.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder came through the youth ranks at 1. FC Koln. He joined in 2019 and was largely involved with the club’s U19 setup, although he did make three senior appearances.
Bozdogan ended the 2019/20 season with 16 appearances for the Schalke U19 outfit across all competitions. In these games, the teenage midfielder produced a healthy return of four goals and three assists.
The 19-year-old has represented the German national team across all youth levels between U15 to U18. Primarily a No. 10, he can play on the left flank as well.
Bozdogan is contracted with Schalke till 2022, but the club is open to a sale as their finances have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. This has led to interest from Tottenham Hotspur. (h/t Football.london)
Tottenham have watched Bozdogan in action on a number of occasions this season. The club has made Schalke aware of their admiration for the player as well. However, we are not the only club pursuing his signature, with La Liga giants Atletico Madrid also very much in the race to sign him. (h/t Football.london)
