Inter Milan make contact with Tottenham for Tanguy Ndombele
According to a report from Sky Sports, Inter Milan have initiated negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur in order to secure the signing of struggling midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
The 23-year-old Ndombele joined Tottenham from French giants Olympique Lyon in a club-record deal last summer. After a goal-scoring debut, the midfielder’s form tailed off, while he kept getting injured way too often.
The change of management turned out to be a bane for Ndombele, as he hardly got a proper run under Jose Mourinho in the starting XI. The Portuguese has been vocal in his criticism of the Frenchman on more than occasion over the course of the season.
Ndombele was hardly used post-lockdown, with the midfielder missing the last couple of matches with another injury. Reports of a rift between him and Mourinho have been doing the rounds for a while now. Jose has been swift to deny them.
Nevertheless, speculations refuse to die, with his situation attracting interest from a number of clubs. As per the aforementioned report, Inter Milan are very much keen on signing Ndombele this summer. To that end, they have now made contact with Spurs to explore the possibility of a summer switch.
The Nerazzurri have already raided us once this year, having signed contract rebel Christian Eriksen back in January. They are now lining up a swoop for Ndombele.
