Arkadiusz Milik agrees personal terms with Juventus

According to a report from Calciomercato (h/t Football.london), Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik, who had been linked with Tottenham, has agreed terms over a contract with Serie A champions Juventus.

The 26-year-old Poland international has been with Napoli for four years, after having made the switch to Italy from Ajax back in 2016. He has been a consistent performer for the Partenopei over the years and has enjoyed a solid 2019/20 campaign as well.

Till date, Milik has featured 34 times across all competitions in the ongoing campaign, bagging 14 goals in the process.

Milik is in the final year of his contract with Napoli, which has led to speculations over his future at the club. And Tottenham were one of the clubs keen on capitalising on his situation by launching a summer move.

It is no secret that the club is in the market for a new striker, given the lack of depth in the department. Beyond Harry Kane, Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has precious little options for the centre-forward role. This is something that came to haunt us in the season gone by and needs to be addressed before the upcoming campaign.

Milik, to that end, would have made a great addition. A proven goalscorer with experience on his side, despite being just 26, the Polish international wouldn’t have cost a fortune either as he is in the final year of his contract.

However, it seems that the 26-year-old has his heart set on a transfer to Serie A champions Juventus. To that end, he has already agreed personal terms over a switch to Turin. (h/t Football.london)

With Milik’s signing now seemingly impossible, it remains to be seen where Mourinho & co. look for attacking reinforcements. Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson has been touted as a possible target and wouldn’t cost a large fee with the Cherries getting relegated.
