Tottenham Hotspur to demand £23m for Serge Aurier
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur will demand a transfer fee of £23m for the services of Serge Aurier, who has emerged as a target for Serie A giants AC Milan.
The 27-year-old Ivorian joined Tottenham from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017. Having played second-fiddle to Kieran Trippier in his first two seasons at the club, Aurier became the first-choice in the 2019/20 campaign, following the Englishman’s departure last year.
Aurier featured 42 times across all competitions over the course of the 2019/20 season. In the process, the defender contributed with two goals and eight assists. While the Ivory Coast international impressed going forward, he was a bit of a liability at the back.
While Aurier still has two years left on his current deal with Tottenham, there had been speculations over his future following his transgressions during the lockdown, when he flouted guidelines on more than one occasion.
AC Milan have made their interest known in the right-back, with club director Paolo Maldini confirming that the club are in negotiations with Spurs for the transfer.
Even though he has enjoyed the trust of Jose Mourinho, the club seem to be open to selling the right-back. However, the club are keen on recouping the entire £23m that they paid PSG to sign him three years ago. AC Milan, though, are willing to discuss offers or around £12m only. (h/t Daily Mail)

Given that the club is in a bit of a sticky situation as far as finances are concerned, we will need to offload players in order to generate funds to sign Mourinho’s targets. It remains to be seen how the negotiations progress between the two clubs in the coming days.
