Habib Diallo keen on Tottenham Hotspur switch
According to a report from beIN Sports (via GFFN h/t Football.london), Metz striker Habib Diallo, who was a target for Tottenham in January, wants to join the club in the ongoing transfer window.
The 25-year-old Diallo has been with Metz since 2013, having joined them from Generation Foot academy in Senegal. He had two loan spells with Stade Brest, before becoming a regular at the club since 2018.
Diallo led Metz’s promotion push to Ligue 1, bagging 26 goals in the second division in the 2018/19 campaign. Having helped them get promoted, the striker once again impressed in the curtailed 2019/20 season in the top-flight, scoring 12 times in 26 outings.
Tottenham had been linked with a move for the Senegalese striker in the January transfer window. The striker’s agent confirmed that an offer had been made for the forward, but a move did not materialize. (h/t Football.london)
And as per the report, Diallo is still harbouring hopes of earning a move to North London and is hoping that the club rekindle their interest in him.
It is no secret that Spurs are in the market for reinforcements to the centre-forward department. Manager Jose Mourinho has no backup option to star striker Harry Kane, now that the club has allowed Troy Parrott to join Millwall on loan.
So, bringing in a new forward should be a top priority for the club in the ongoing window. Diallo, given his recent form, would represent a decent option to the club. Moreover, his willingness to join us could also make things easier in terms of working out a deal.
