Fulham rival Southampton for Kyle Walker-Peters
According to a report from the Evening Standard, newly-promoted Premier League outfit Fulham are plotting to hijack Southampton’s attempt to sign Kyle Walker-Peters from Tottenham Hotspur.
The 23-year-old defender spent the second half of the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Southampton. And as per latest reports, the Englishman is closing in on a permanent transfer to the St. Mary’s Stadium, with the two clubs reaching an agreement over a £12m transfer fee. (h/t Daily Mail)
However, Fulham are now planning to disrupt Southampton’s attempts to sign the 23-year-old by entering the race for his transfer. (h/t Evening Standard)

In fact, the Cottagers had made an attempt to sign the English defender on loan in the January transfer window. But they were beaten to the punch by Southampton. However, they want to sign him in the ongoing window, now that they are back in the Premier League via Playoffs. (h/t Evening Standard)
Walker-Peters’ deal with Southampton is closely linked with Tottenham’s pursuit of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. But the two transfers are being treated as separate entities and Spurs remain confident of landing the Danish international after agreeing a £15m fee with the south coast club.

It now remains to be seen if Fulham are able to beat Southampton to the signing of the 23-year-old. Nonetheless, it looks certain that the Spurs’ academy man will be on his way out of the club after having made just 24 appearances, in which he scored one goal and set up five more.
