Tottenham, Everton interested in signing Leon Bailey
According to a report from Sport 1 (h/t Liverpool Echo), Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are keen on signing Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, but may have to pay €40m to secure his signature.
The 22-year-old Bailey started out at Phoenix All Stars Jamaica, before earning a move to Austrian outfit USK Anif in 2011. He had a stint in Slovakia with AS Trencin, before signing for Belgian outfit KRC Genk, where he announced himself as a star in the making.
On the back of a series of impressive displays, Bailey earned a switch to German giants Bayer Leverkusen, where he has continued to enhance his reputation. The 22-year-old has racked up 24 goals and 15 assists in 114 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit till date.
The 2019/20 campaign hasn’t been Bailey’s best, as he managed a return of seven goals and three assists from 31 appearances across all competitions. However, that doesn’t seem to have harmed his reputation as Tottenham and Everton are now lining up a move for the Jamaican international. (h/t Liverpool Echo)
The report claims that both Everton and Tottenham will be closely watching the 22-year-old winger when Leverkusen take on Rangers in the UEFA Europa League Round of 16.
It also goes on to claim that Bailey has a burning desire to play in the Premier League. And he recently switched his agent to Aidy Ward, who also represents Raheem Sterling, in order to help him secure a move to England. (h/t Liverpool Echo)

Bailey is contracted with Bayer Leverkusen till 2023, meaning they are under no pressure to sell him if their demands of €40m are met.
Given his age and potential, the 22-year-old would be a good addition at Tottenham. He would add more flair to our attack and provide with an alternate dimension. But the €40m valuation might be a problem, as the club has a number of positions to strengthen on a restricted budget.
