Inter Milan will attempt to sign Tanguy Ndombele
According to French publication RMC Sport (h/t Daily Mail), Serie A giants Inter Milan will make renewed attempts to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele in the current transfer window.
The 23-year-old Frenchman arrived at Tottenham last summer in a club record £55m move from Lyon. However, the midfielder endured a difficult debut season in England, seemingly falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho towards the end of the season.
As a result, his future at the club has been a subject of intense speculation for a while now. Inter Milan had shown an interest in signing Ndombele this summer. However, talks had fizzled out as the Nerazzurri were busy with their UEFA Europa League commitments. (h/t Daily Mail)
But, now with their season out of the way, the Serie A heavyweights are planning to launch a fresh attempt to try and sign the French international. (h/t Daily Mail)
However, they are likely to face some resistance from Tottenham, as chairman Daniel Levy is keen to give his record signing another year at the club to come good. This, in spite of the Ndombele hardly featuring under Mourinho in the second half of the season. (h/t Daily Mail)
Swap deal with Milan Skriniar a possibility
Inter are interested in Ndombele, but as per reports in Italy (h/t Football.london), they will only be able to sign him as part of a swap deal that would see Milan Skriniar move the other way.
The Slovakian international has been linked to Spurs in the past and given that he has dropped down the pecking order at Inter, the club are open to offloading him in order to bring Ndombele to San Siro. (h/t Football.london)

The chance to sign Skriniar could very well tempt Levy to change his stance on Ndombele’s future. We are in need of defensive reinforcements and the 25-year-old is one of the best centre-backs in the Serie A.
It will be interesting to see if there is any progress on this front in the coming weeks.
