Tottenham reject AC Milan bid for Serge Aurier
According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur have rejected an opening offer for right-back Serge Aurier from Italian heavyweights AC Milan.
The 27-year-0ld Aurier has been with Tottenham since 2017, having arrived from Paris Saint-Germain in a £23m deal. Having played second-fiddle to Kieran Trippier in his first two years at the club, the Ivorian became the first-choice right-back at Tottenham in the 2019/20 season.
Aurier made a strong impression going forward, but was a major liability in the defensive side of things. While he was a constant presence in the starting XI for most of the season, Tottenham are open to selling him, with AC Milan very much interested. (h/t Daily Mail)
Milan’s director Frederic Massara recently denied any interest in Aurier from the club. However, as per the latest update from Sky Sports, the Serie A giants have made an opening offer for the 27-year-old. However, there is no mention of the transfer fee that has been offered by the Rossoneri.
It is claimed that the two clubs are some way apart in their valuations of Aurier. However, talks over the transfer fee are continuing between the two parties. (h/t Sky Sports)
Aurier, who is currently on wages of £70,000-a-week, still has two years left on his current contract with Tottenham.

However, with the club closing in on the transfer of Matt Doherty from Wolves, the Ivorian does not have a future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Given how Daniel Levy operates in the market, he is likely to squeeze out every penny possible from Milan for the 27-year-old. Let’s hope the negotiations don’t drag so far that the Italians end up backing out.
