Tottenham eye cut-price move for Lucas de Vega
According to AS Barcelona (h/t Mirror), Tottenham are eyeing a bargain move for Barcelona starlet Lucas de Vega this summer and have made an offer worth around £2m for the youngster.
The 20-year-old de Vega is a product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy. A versatile player, the Brazilian can operate as a central midfielder, as an attacking midfielder while he can also play on the flanks.
A talent with immense potential, de Vega is yet to make his first-team debut for Barcelona, while he has also not featured for the club’s B team either. Instead, the youngster spent the last season out on loan with Spanish second division outfit Cartagena.
During his season-long stint with the lower league side, the 20-year-old racked up twenty appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal in the process. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Back at Barcelona, the Catalans are willing to offload him this summer. And Tottenham have made an approach for the versatile midfielder, offering a sum of around £2m for his services. (h/t Mirror)
However, that is likely to get knocked back by Barcelona. As per the report, the La Liga heavyweights are demanding at least £3.6m up front for the 20-year-old with another £3.6m in add-ons, taking the total value of the deal just over £7m.

De Vega still has two years left on his current contract with Barcelona. However, it seems like his time at the club is nearing an end. It, however, remains to be seen if Tottenham do up the bid for the 20-year-old in the coming weeks.
