PSG to battle Tottenham for the signing of Milan Skriniar

According to jounalist Gianluca Di Marzio (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur will have to face competition from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, for the signing of Milan Skriniar.

The 25-year-old centre-back is one of the most solid and reliable defenders in Italy. The Slovakian international has been a regular in the starting XI for Inter Milan since joining in 2017.

However, he has dropped down the pecking order in recent months and the club are now ready to sell him in the summer transfer window, provided they are able to bring in a replacement. (h/t Football.london)

Tottenham are reported to be strongly interested in signing the 25-year-old Skriniar. Given our shaky performances at the back this past season, it makes total sense that the club is eyeing defensive reinforcements.

And Skriniar, given his proven pedigree and European experience, would be a fine signing for us. However, we will now have to face competition from Paris Saint-Germain for the Slovakian centre-back’s signing.

As per the report, the UEFA Champions League finalists are in the market to replace Thiago Silva, who joined Chelsea on a free transfer. And Skriniar has emerged as a target for Les Parisiens.

The signings of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty has meant that we have had a solid start to the transfer window. But a new striker and a central defender would go a long way in helping us push for the top four.

Skriniar made 42 appearances in the 2019/20 season, as Inter finished second in Serie A and made it to the finals of the UEFA Europa League. His signing would certainly be a step in the right direction to plug the holes in our backline.
