Touch and go for Tottenham Hotspur star Giovani Lo Celso as Everton clash nears
According to Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho will make a late decision on the inclusion of Giovani Lo Celso against Everton on Sunday.
Spurs kick-off their 2020/21 Premier League campaign at home against Everton. Having scraped through to a Europa League spot, Mourinho will be keen to improve in his first full season in charge.
Three points against the Toffees will be the perfect start to the campaign. Whether Lo Celso will play a part in the game remains to be seen. (h/t Football.london)
The Argentine has experienced an upturn of form since the turn of the year. Now a critical part of the Tottenham midfield, he has been out injured since pre-season.
The 24-year-old has missed all of our pre-season games and was also not pictured in training. Mourinho had earlier revealed that the player is still struggling with a groin problem that he sustained in March. (h/t Football.london)
One Tottenham player who will definitely not make it is defender Japhet Tanganga. (h/t Football.london)
The youngster enjoyed an excellent breakout season last time around. With Jan Verhtonghen out of the picture, Tanganga could be set for a larger role this season.
It remains to be seen if Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Matt Doherty will make their Spurs debut against Everton. The duo have been consistent performers for Southampton and Wolves. Hopefully, they can repeat the performances and even go up a level under Mourinho.
