Agent of Gareth Bale talks up Tottenham Hotspur return

Speaking to BBC Sport Wales (h/t Football.london), Jonathan Barnett, the agent of Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale, has claimed that the Welshman is keen on a return to Tottenham and talks are ongoing.

The 31-year-old Bale burst out onto the scenes at Tottenham Hotspur and went onto become a bonafide superstar. This saw him earn a £85m transfer to Real Madrid in the summer of 2013.

While the Welsh wing-wizard has seen a lot of success at the Spanish capital club, he has been frozen out of the first-team picture by manager Zinedine Zidane for a while now. And they are now keen on offloading him, in order to get his massive wages off the books, with Tottenham and Manchester United interested. (h/t Football.london)

However, it seems like Bale has his heart set on a return to Tottenham, with his agent Jonathan Barnett confirming as much. (h/t Football.london)

“Gareth still loves Spurs. We are talking [Spurs, Real and Bale’s camp]. It’s where he wants to be.”

Talks have been ongoing with Real Madrid over the possibility of a loan move, according to Sky Sports.

There have been alternate reports from The Telegraph that claims Tottenham might buy the Welsh international outright, while sending Dele Alli to Real Madrid as part of a swap deal, which would help the club accommodate his wages.

It remains to be seen whether we bring him back on loan or sign him up permanently. But, the return of Gareth Bale to Tottenham will be huge. He may have not played a lot towards the end of the last season, but his quality is undoubted.

Bale’s addition will add a huge spark to our attack which looked devoid of any bright ideas in the season opener against Everton.
