Brighton & Hove Albion make enquiry for Tottenham ace Ryan Sessegnon
According to a report from the Daily Star, Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion have made an enquiry over the possibility of signing Tottenham Hotspur starlet Ryan Sessegnon on loan for the current season.
The 20-year-old Sessegnon joined the club from Fulham last year in a deal worth £25m. However, the young Englishman has endured a difficult debut campaign in North London.
Injuries have hampered his progress a great deal, while new manager Jose Mourinho also did not offer him a lot of opportunities when fit and available. Sessegnon ended the 2019/20 campaign with just 12 appearances across all competitions, scoring and assisting a solitary goal apiece.
The 20-year-old is yet to make a single appearance in the new season. He has made the matchday squad just once so far. Ben Davies is the undisputed first-choice left-back at Tottenham. And with Sergio Reguilon arriving this summer, Sessegnon’s chances of playing regularly are very slim.
And that is why the club has decided to loan him out for the 2020/21 campaign, in order to help continue his progress and development. A number of clubs have been credited with an interest in the Englishman.
But, as per the aforementioned report, Brighton seemed to have jumped in front of the queue, having made an enquiry to sign him up on loan.

Brighton manager Graham Potter is held in high regard. He can help get the best out of Sessegnon, which would benefit him and Tottenham in the longer run.
Spurs, though, are demanding a loan fee and want Sessegnon’s wages paid in full, and do not want an option to buy included. It remains to be seen if the two clubs are able to arrive at an agreement.
