Tottenham to sell three players to fund Milan Skriniar transfer
According to Football Insider (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur are ready to sell three first-team players in order to pave the way for the signing of Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan.
The 25-year-old Slovakian international has emerged as a top target for Tottenham to bolster the defensive ranks. However, the club haven’t been able to meet Inter Milan’s asking price as of yet. (h/t Football.london)
But, as per the latest reports, the club is ready to sanction sales of three first-team players in order to generate some funds, which would help sign Skriniar in a ‘blockbuster deal’.
The three players that are being considered for a sale are out of favour left-back Danny Rose, fellow right-back Serge Aurier along with South American defender Juan Foyth. (h/t Football.london)
Rose has been cast out of the squad by Jose Mourinho. In fact, the England international hasn’t even been given a squad number this season, following his return from a loan spell at Newcastle United. With his contract expiring in less than a year, a sale was very much expected. (h/t Football.london)
Foyth, too, has fallen out of favour under Mourinho, and hasn’t played for the club since almost 10 months. With there being interest from newly-promoted Leeds United, among other clubs, a departure seems guaranteed. (h/t Football.london)
As far as Aurier is concerned, things get a little tricky. Spurs don’t have a backup for Matt Doherty at right-back. However, the club seems ready to sell in spite of the fact, as funds are necessary. However, the Ivorian has turned down a move to Spartak Moscow already. (h/t Football.london)

A new centre-back is a must after the way our defence performed last season. Skriniar would be an excellent signing. And getting rid of players that are not part of the plans under Jose to sign him is the way to go about things. However, the club needs to act fast with not much time left for the window to close.
