Tottenham to return with fresh bid for Milan Skriniar

According to Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur are set to return with a fresh offer for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his defence before the window closes.

The 25-year-old Skriniar has established himself as one of the top defenders in Italy during his time with Inter. However, his future has come into question after he was dropped by Antonio Conte towards the end of the last season. (h/t Football.london)

Tottenham have emerged as his most ardent suitors this summer. But a mismatch in transfer valuation between the two clubs has made the talks complicated. Inter are demanding £45m for the Slovakian international, but Spurs are looking to offer just £32m plus add-ons. (h/t Football.london)

Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio claimed earlier in the week that the defender will not be sold after their valuation hadn’t been met. (h/t Football.london)

“I said the other day there has been contact for Skriniar. We did not receive any particularly impressive offers and he is not for sale.”

Nevertheless, Tottenham are set to test Inter Milan’s resolve with a fresh offer this weekend as per the latest report.

It has been a very successful transfer window for Tottenham up until this point. The club has made five signings thus far, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale (loan) arriving.

In addition, the club also has an agreement in place to sign Brazilian striker Carlos Vinicius on loan from SL Benfica. A new central defender would be a brilliant way to end a successful transfer window for Tottenham.

And while Skriniar remains the priority, Antonio Rudiger and Merih Demiral are also being looked at as alternatives.
