Everton consider late deadline day swoop for Paulo Gazzaniga
According to BBC Sport, Premier League outfit Everton are considering making a late move in the transfer window for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga.
The 28-year-old Argentine has fallen down the pecking order at Tottenham following the summer arrival of Joe Hart on a free transfer. In fact, Gazzaniga was axed from the club’s UEFA Europa League squad by Jose Mourinho last month, in order to make room for new signing Sergio Reguilon.
And, it has been claimed that the shot-stopper is one among a number of players who the club will try to move on before the window closes.
Earlier on the deadline day, reports claimed that Gazzaniga had emerged as a shock target for Premier League champions Liverpool. And now, their Merseyside rivals Everton, too, are considering a move for the Argentine shot-stopper. (h/t BBC)
It is claimed that the Toffees’ manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen on bringing in a new goalkeeper to provide competition for current first-choice custodian Jordan Pickford. The England international has made a number of errors over the past year that has cost the team. (h/t BBC)
And, Gazzaniga has emerged as a potential target for the current Premier League leaders. Along with the Tottenham star, the club are also looking at Manchester United’s veteran goalkeeper Sergio Romero. (h/t BBC)

Gazzaniga clearly has no future at Tottenham, with Jose Mourinho clearly preferring Joe Hart as his No.2 behind Hugo Lloris. So, an exit before the transfer window closes is very much on the cards for the 28-year-old. However, it remains to be seen if Everton do act on their interest in the custodian.
